Your git contributions lately are shit

June 19, 2026 | Seattle ☀️

Ever since I started my new gig in April my personal coding/building momentum has cratered. This was something hovering in the back of my mind over the past few weeks but it wasn’t till a buddy called me out on it.

Shit Lately

I started a new job in April and have been completely heads down on learning a new team, company, industry, codebase, process and a literal fuck ton of acronyms.

His message felt like a lightning rod for something that had been lingering in the back of my mind since I started at Anduril in April.

So instead of some sad excuse about being tired or too busy or blah blah blah. I just found the time.

I am by no means a hustle core bro saying you gotta 996 but I had been letting garbage back in my life like re-installing reddit, linkedin and instagram back on my phone. So I nuked those again and bam 8 hours back a week.

Well it’s been 20 days since he said that to me and I haven’t missed a day of building. I am at 50 plus commits and finding the time to polish, grind and build.

But what does that mean beyond getting a simple 10px x 10px green box on my github contribution table well?

Changes

  • More map polish on the trad directory. Beta is up now!
  • 200+ artists added to the trad directory
  • Started the early work for profiles within the database
  • Refactoring the chrome extension for better geo tagging of cities…before it was dumb
  • Cleaning up and building a collections view for my record collection
  • Fixed the broken CRON job on the record site…It had been broken for weeks RIP
  • Cleaning up and refining this site…it was bad and needed it

So yeah find the time, or better yet, go find the fat in your time, kill it, and make something awesome — or have a bud that will swoop in and tell you how it is.
